Our breakaway stay at Wyford Farm in Van Reenen

Let me tell you about our lovely break away with my Orange One’s family in Van Reenen’s.  Yep, you read right, Van Reenens.  I know the area is mostly known for…  well, it isn’t known for anything really, other than the main route for travelling between Joburg and Durbs.

But tucked away just off the N3 highway, almost exactly between Jozi and the Indian Ocean is a peaceful and luscious green gem, Wyford Farm.

Turning off the bustling highway we headed onto a short farm road (2km) where we were greeted by an old stone house with a big stoep’ surrounded by big trees and all sort of wagons from yesteryear.

Our cottage looked like it had been cut out of the English countryside and placed in a lovely garden with herbs such as rosemary, mint and lavender as well as some colourful geraniums.

We took a walk around the farm dam and also had a swim in the refreshing pool when we didn’t relax at our homy cottage.  Did I mention the odd bleet from the resident sheep or moo from cows?

A lovely break away ideal for meeting up halfway with our Durban family.  Wyford will be seeing us soon again.
